    A slum, as defined by the United Nations agency is a run-down area of a city characterized by substandard housing, squalor, and lacking in tenure security. According to the United Nations, the percentage of urban dwellers living in slums decreased from 47 percent to 37 percent in the developing world between 1990 and 2005. However, due to rising population, and the rise especially in urban populations, the number of slum dwellers is rising. One billion people worldwide live in slums and the figure is projected to grow to 2 billion by 2030

    I learing about this lady was sitting on the her blacket and she had her baby with her and they were in the hurricane and they don’t have no place to stay.
    And then to I saw some people trying to get help and see them hurt and homeless too.

    4. What are dreams/plans for the future? The dreams for the future is to find somewhere else to stay and make a better living enviroment for themselves.

    The sum life is really bad and noone wants to live there they feel they have to watch out for themself in their own neighborhood and their own house.

    3) To him it feels like being in a prison and he feels alone without his family.

    5) Slum life is the life of the poor who can’t afford to buy decent houses and live under some unhealthy conditions, the houses are dirty, no clean water, poor sanitation and it,s just plain uncomfortable.

    Shilpiri household, She’s worked on four houses. She doesn’t like it, there are fifteen people living in one house and they have to sleep on top of each other. Plans are to make sure her kids are set. It’s outrageous to me because my household consists of only three people and I couldn’t imagine living with fifteen. Having no clean water and soap and not being able to take showers is a living hell ! I couldn’t deal with the overcrowdedness and unsanitary surroundings.
